Welcome to Elwood, Nebraska!
The Elwood Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome you to this site. The Chamber is very proud of Elwood. We pride ourselves on the neatness, cleanliness, and best tested drinking water in the area.

Elwood is the county seat of Gosper County, Nebraska. It is located about 35 miles north of the Kansas border. Interstate 80 is 15 miles north of Elwood at Lexington, Nebraska.

The Elwood community feels blessed with an excellent and beautiful recreation area. There are several area lakes and a reservoir for camping and fishing. Wildlife surrounds the area for turkey, pheasant, and deer hunting.

The Gosper County Fair is held in Elwood and has excellent rodeo grounds. The town owns its own carnival and volunteers from town work to host the fair and carnival. People come from miles around to attend this yearly event.

Elwood Area Foundation
The Elwood Area Foundation was established in 1980 and has since received memorials, bequests, endowments and donations allowing it to grow.  The Foundation invests and administers funds to award grants each year to humanitarian, educational and cultural organizations in the Elwood area.

Residential Lots Available

The Elwood Redevelopment Authority has made several new lots available at a minimal fee for new home construction.

Click here for the building permit applications for these lots.

TIF financing would also be available through the Elwood Redevelopment Authority for any agricultural processing facilities such as ethanol plants in the Elwood area.
